What is the process of working together?

  1. Reach out to me by phone or email to set up an initial video consultation to briefly explore your goals for therapy, and answer any questions about availability and payment. Please expect 15-20 minutes for this call. You can schedule this online here
  2. If you decide to move forward, we will set up our first session and begin the assessment process. The initial consultation session is 60 minutes long. The Intake process often takes 2-3 sessions to to allow us enough time to determine whether we are a good fit as therapist and client
  3. Moving forward, a regular session is 45-53 minutes long and is conducted either in-person, or for teletherapy – via a secure video-conference platform.

How does insurance and billing work?

Cost and Payment Options

My prices range based on the length of the session and type of therapy. Generally, a one-time regular session is between $175-$250.

In Network Coverage

TheXponential is an in-network provider with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois PPO and Blue Choice Plans. This means that I will bill your insurance company for the costs of the session. However, you are still responsible for any co-pays and co-insurance not covered by your plan at the time of service.

Out-of-Network Coverage

If your health insurance coverage is through Aetna, Cigna, or United Healthcare, my services are considered out-of-network. Therefore, you are responsible for the full payment at the time of session.

This does not mean that your insurance provider will not provide coverage for behavioral health services.

Depending on your insurance, I can provide you with the necessary documentation so that you can utilize your out-of-network benefits. I encourage you to contact your insurance company to verify your benefits, as they vary greatly from plan to plan.

We can also discuss payment options during our initial call.

Self-Pay

You may pay for services to me directly. I accept most major credit cards. We can also explore other secure electronic methods.

Reduced Fee

I am committed to helping my clients regardless of ability to pay. Therefore, I take on a limited number of reduced fee clients. Please feel free to inquire whether there is currently an open spot.
